What this business actually is
SugarLoaf Digital Pty Ltd builds and ranks local service websites and Google Business Profiles across Australia, then sells the job enquiries those assets produce to trade businesses on a pay-per-lead basis, one business per territory.
That is the core of it. There is a secondary line of work where we act as a conventional agency for businesses that want to own their own marketing, but the main engine is the lead model, and it is worth understanding properly before you buy from us. Why rank-and-rent works sets out the economics without the sales gloss.
Who owns what
This is the question most owners should ask an agency first and almost never do.
When you buy leads from us, the domain, the site and often the Google Business Profile behind them belong to SugarLoaf Digital. You are renting the enquiry flow, not the asset. That is why we carry the cost of the ranking work and the ad spend, and why there is no setup fee and no lock-in.
When you buy local SEO or a website from us, everything is registered in your business name from day one and you keep it all if you leave. Two different arrangements, priced differently, and we will not blur the line between them.
How we ended up here
The earlier version of this company was a general digital agency selling web design, development and marketing to whoever would buy it. It worked in the sense that clients paid, and it did not work in the sense that the results were inconsistent and we could not point at what we were actually good at.
Narrowing to trades and to lead generation made the results legible for the first time. The longer version of that decision is on why we changed how this business works.
What we are not
We are not a large team and we do not claim to be. We do not do brand strategy, logo design, social media management or print. We do not sell twelve month contracts. We do not publish case studies with invented numbers, and you will notice there are no client logos or testimonials on this site — there will be when we have permission to use real ones, and not before.
We also turn work away regularly. If your territory has thin search demand, or your close rate on warm enquiries is poor, or you cannot answer your phone, this model will cost you money. When pay-per-lead is the wrong model is the list, and it is on the site precisely so you can disqualify yourself without having to sit through a sales call.
Working with us
Everything runs month to month. Start with the guides if you want to understand the field, the industries page to see whether your trade is one we run, and pricing for what drives the numbers.

Frequently asked questions
Are you a marketing agency or a lead seller?
Both, depending on the client. For most trade businesses we are a lead seller — we own ranked websites and Google profiles and we licence the enquiries to one business per territory. For clients who want to own their own assets we act as a conventional agency and build in their name instead.
Do you perform any trade work yourselves?
No. SugarLoaf Digital does not carry out tree work, plumbing, demolition, glazing, detailing or restoration, does not quote jobs and holds no trade licences. Every job that comes through our sites is performed by the licensed business that holds that territory.
Where are you based?
Margaret River, in the south west of Western Australia. We run territories nationally because search marketing does not require being in the same city as the client, and our own region is one of the smaller markets we work in. Business hours are WA time, which is worth knowing if you are on the east coast.
Why publish all your methods for free?
Because none of it is secret and pretending otherwise insults the reader. Owners hire us for the hours and the consistency, not for hidden knowledge. Publishing the method also filters our enquiries down to people who understand what they are buying, and those make much better clients.
