Most trade businesses do not have a selling problem
They have a pipeline problem. You quote well, your repeat customers are happy, and then a quiet three weeks arrives and the crew is standing around the yard. The work exists — somebody two suburbs over is searching for exactly what you do right now — but they are finding a competitor with a better-ranked Google profile or a bigger ads budget.
SugarLoaf Digital Pty Ltd exists to close that gap. We build and rank local service websites and Google Business Profiles across Australia, and we send the enquiries they produce to one business per territory. You pay per lead, not per hour, and not per report.
Who we work with
We run territories for trades where the job value is high enough that a single won job pays for a month of enquiries. That currently means tree services and lopping, demolition and site clearing, hot water and plumbing, car detailing and paint correction, glazing and glass replacement, landscaping and garden care, and flood and fire restoration. The industries page goes through what the lead flow actually looks like in each of them.
We also work with a smaller number of professional service firms — mortgage broking, insolvency and restructuring, dental and medical — where the same search behaviour applies. If your customers find you by typing a problem and a suburb into Google, the model works.
What we actually do
Four things, and on the first call we will tell you which of them you need rather than selling you all four.
Pay-per-lead generation is the core of it. We already own ranked assets in a lot of Australian markets, so in many territories you are renting something that works today rather than waiting six months for it to. Local SEO and Google Business Profile work is for operators who want to own the asset themselves instead of renting ours. Websites for trades is the unglamorous version of web design: fast, mobile-first, built to produce a phone call. The AI answering service picks up the calls you miss while you are under a house or up a ladder.
How the engagement runs
We start with a call about your service area, the job types you actually want and the ones you would rather not take. We check whether your postcodes have enough monthly search demand to support the work — plenty of regional territories do not, and we would rather tell you that than take the money.
If the numbers work, we agree the territory and a price per lead. From there, enquiries arrive by SMS and email as they happen, with the call recording and the suburb attached. You call back, you quote, you win the job. We handle the ranking, the ads, the landing pages and the tracking.
We publish the argument against us
Buying leads is the wrong model for a meaningful number of businesses, and the honest version of that case is on when pay-per-lead is the wrong model. If you cannot answer your phone, cannot get a written quote out inside a day, or you close fewer than one in five warm enquiries, more leads will simply cost you more money without fixing anything.
Before you spend a cent with anyone, work out what a lead is worth to you. The figure you land on is the ceiling on what any supplier, us included, should be charging you. Then read exclusive versus shared leads so you know which of the two you are being quoted for, because a lot of suppliers are deliberately vague about it.
Learn the game before you buy into it
Everything we do for clients is written out in the guides section, ungated. That includes how pay-per-lead works end to end, why rank-and-rent works as a business model, and how to do the Google Business Profile work yourself. If you read all of it, run your own marketing and never contact us, that is a fine outcome.
When you want to talk numbers, our pricing page sets out what drives the figure, and you can get in touch at info@sugarloafdigital.com.au or on 0468 062 773.
Frequently asked questions
Where is SugarLoaf Digital based?
We are based in Margaret River in the south west of Western Australia and we run territories across the country. Most of the work is done remotely, which is normal for search marketing, and it means we are not restricted to selling leads in our own postcode. Our own market is one of the smaller ones we operate in.
Do you lock clients into long contracts?
No. Every territory runs month to month. If the enquiries are not paying for themselves you give notice and stop. We would rather earn the next month than hold someone to a twelve month term while they resent every invoice, and a contract has never once made a bad campaign work.
How much do your services cost?
It depends on the trade, the territory and how much search demand exists in your postcodes. A demolition enquiry in Perth and a car detailing enquiry in regional Victoria are not worth the same money and are not priced the same. Our pricing page explains what moves the number before you get on a call with us.
Can you work with businesses outside the trades?
Sometimes. The model needs a service with a decent job value, urgent search intent and a buyer who calls rather than researches for a month. That covers most trades and some professional services. If your customers take eight weeks to decide and compare on brand rather than availability, pay-per-lead is a poor fit and we will say so.
